Signs of Bedbugs:
Small, rusty-colored blood stains on bedding or mattresses from crushed bed bugs, tiny dark spots (fecal matter) along mattress seams, tiny pale-yellow eggs or eggshells, bite marks appearing in clusters or lines on the skin, a musty odor in the bedroom, and shed exoskeletons left behind by the bugs; all of which are usually found in areas where people sleep, like mattresses, bed frames, and headboards. Bite marks often appear in clusters or lines, sometimes with a red center and a lighter halo, and can be itchy. You can normally only smell bedbugs in high level infestations. UV light can also help identify droppings and hard to find hiding locations. Acquiring used wooden items from other people’s bedrooms is high risk for initially getting bedbugs.
